083: Western Market
Credit: Threesixfive Content Ltd
Built in Edwardian style in 1906 and a food market until 1988, Western Market now houses a range of craft, souvenir, jewellery and fabric shops. On the second floor is a huge banqueting hall, The Grand Stage, where one can enjoy excellent dim sum in a vintage setting. A look around here is well worthwhile on a walk or tram ride through the bustling Sheung Wan neighbourhood. Refreshments are available at a pleasant café inside the south entrance, which is next to a good German bakery.
