169: Wan Chai Gap

A pass in the hilltops above Wan Chai, Wan Chai Gap is a tranquil hideaway in comparison to the touristy Victoria Gap at The Peak #154. Wan Chai Gap offers a park with fitness apparatus and a sitting-out area, and can be reached on foot via a heart-pumping walk up Wan Chai Gap Road from the city below. The Police Museum #170, in a house overlooking the park, is worth a visit but the main reason to come here is for the numerous hiking trails in the vicinity. Lady Clementi’s Ride and Black’s Link are both excellent walks from here to Wong Nai Chung Gap. The Hong Kong Trail #159 passes close by and can be joined a few hundred metres down the hill to the south. Further down the southern slopes there are many trails to be explored in Aberdeen Country Park.
