The Hong Kong Museum of Art is found at the tip of Kowloon Peninsula, sitting on the seafront between the Cultural Centre, Space Museum, and Avenue of Stars. The museum is laid out over four floors and features six galleries of permanent collections, focusing on the painting, calligraphy, pottery and sculpture of Hong Kong and China through the ages. A seventh gallery is devoted to thematic exhibitions open for periods of a few months at a time, featuring both local and overseas artwork.
