363: Restaurante Fernando
Credit: Threesixfive Content Ltd
In a sleepy bay in the south of Coloane, the southernmost island of the territory, Fernando’s has become a venerable dining institution and a classic to visit when in Macau. The hearty, affordable Portuguese fare of sardines, cod, roast chicken, chorizo, salads and stews can be washed down with sangria. The pleasant environment is European in flavour, with a sea breeze and the buzz of cicadas in the air offering a welcome contrast to the city's bright lights and vice for an evening. On the weekends advance booking is not possible, due to the immense popularity of this restaurant, so it is advisable to come early and wait while having a drink at the outdoor tables.
