“Dragon's Well” or Longjing tea hails from a village of the same name in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, about three hours’ drive southwest of Shanghai. This green tea is famous for its perceived health benefits and it contains vitamin C and polyphenols. Some people drinking the tea for the first time find it bitter, but this is usually due to the age or quality of the tea. The best tea is regarded as coming from the springtime harvest in April each year. Locally, green tea is drunk so frequently it is almost a substitute for water. Dragon's Well tea is available for consumption in most restaurants in Shanghai and can be purchased by the tin at Mr Yan's Tea Shop #019.
