Set in an old Western-style house and courtyard, renovated in an innovative, modern style, the Commune Social is a Jason Atherton eatery styled around the concept of socializing and sharing. The restaurant has separate tapas, dessert and cocktail bar spaces and although there is no pressure to move between courses, that is the idea. Dishes include braised pork belly, cabbage puree, pickled kohlrabi and spiced jus, tuna tar-tar “DIY”, and chargrilled Iberico pork and foie-gras burgers with avocado and pickled cucumber. The restaurant’s interior design is by the award-winning design firm Neri and Hu of Design Republic #057 next door.
