065: Jinjiang Metropolo Hotel Classiq
Built in 1937, Hubertus court was designed by Laszlo Hudec and constructed originally as an apartment block. It was nicknamed the “little park hotel”, a reference to the hotel on People's Square also designed by Hudec. Now run by the Jinjiang hotel group, the building's exterior remains a beautiful example of the art deco style. The building was renamed the Dahua Hotel after 1949 and is still referred to this way by locals. At around RMB400 per night, it is very good value for such an architectural treasure. It is also well placed for access to the west side of the former French Concession #111.
