The building that houses this museum is perhaps more impressive than what lies within. An early twentieth century French-style residence built for the French director of the Chamber of Industry and later used for the president of the French Municipal Council, it was nicknamed 'the little white house'. The building is set in small but beautiful gardens. Inside visitors will find jade and wooden carvings, embroidery and other historical examples of Chinese craftwork as well as workshops where artists create new pieces today. In the basement there is also a shop. A look around here represents good value for the RMB 8 entrance ticket.
