Filled with halls, pavilions and rockeries, Yu Garden, or “Yuyuan” in Chinese, is the highlight of the Old City. The garden is divided by ornate walls that are carved in the form of a dragon and contains Chinese plants and man-made streams. Centuries old, the garden contains a 400-year-old ginkgo tree. A quiet place for reflection and absorbing some Chinese culture, as long as it is not too busy.
